A 63-year-old widowed woman was allegedly gang-raped and robbed by two men belonging to her village in a tribal area near Abu Road in Sirohi district.
In the FIR lodged on August 15, the woman alleged that accused men, under the influence of alcohol, barged into her house where she was sleeping alone, beat her up, raped her, and then robbed Rs 30,000 from the house.
The police on Saturday detained one of the accused named in the FIR.
Abu Road RIICO police station in-charge, Sitaram Panwar, said that the incident took place on August 13.
The woman was alone in the house as her husband had died a few years ago and she has no child.
“The woman said she had dinner around 10pm and went to sleep outside in the open. Around 1am, two men with their faces covered came and started beating her. They punched her in the face, causing her teeth to break, and then kicked her in the stomach.” said Police official.
