West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose again creates ruckus violating Supreme Court verdict regarding RG Kar medical college hospital victim.
Today itself CJI D Y Chandrachud ordered not to spread anything which exposes identity of Deceased Doctor of Kolkata RG Kar medical college hospital.
But after SC order, West Bengal governor spoke to the parents of RG Kar victim’s parents over video call and recorded the whole conversation on camera. then his office circulated the video showing clear face of Her parents to public.
After this shameful act of Bengal Governor, TMC Rajyasabha MP Derek O’Brien requested him to take down the video and restrict himself from doing this kind of publicity stunt.
Derek O’Brien said, “Honourable Governor,
Your video today disrespects the high constitutional post you hold. We fully support the Supreme Court verdict. It is positive. Sir, someone like you, doing video statements on this! You yourself could not ensure the safety of a lady employee at her workplace – Raj Bhavan, where you reside. You may wish to ask yourself: do I have the moral right to speak on this issue.
Sir, you even recorded a second video today. The telephone call you had with the father of the rape victim was recorded by you and then publicized. Tasteless. Unethical. Please do not use your high office and a gruesome tragedy for self publicity.”
Today during hearing petition filed by lawyers against the disclosure of the identity of the Doctor raped in Kolkata’s RG Kar Hospital on social media, CJI observed, “the grievance urged in the petition that following the murder (with alleged rape in RG Kar Hospital) the name of the deceased has been widely disseminated on social media inlcuding FB, Instagram, Twtter. The pics and videos clips of the body of the deceased has been circulating on social media. Clearly this is in violation of Nipun Saxena decision which directed that the identity of the rape victim cannot be revealed. we direct that all photographs and video clippings of the deceased be immediately removed from all social media platforms .”
