Students of Jyotirmoy Public school Sonarpur celebrated the glorious history of Kolkata by choosing theme – Journey of Kolkata : “From roots to wings”.
Various cultural programmes depicted the glorious journey of Our very own Tilottama Kolkata from Calcutta, “City of Joy”.

I had started this project back in 2004 in my ancestral house in Sonarpur Ghasiara. firstly I had plan for primary English medium school there.”

but whereas almost all the countries in the world have one single national language, India has diverse culture and linguistic preference which varies from state to state. For this diverse religious and linguistic practices most of the Indian students have to learn English after a certain academic career. but in reality all the higher educational courses offered in english instead of their mother tongue.
Eminent Educationist Dr. Partha Sarathi Ganguli says, “if a student is born in France Germany Canada or England, he can learn rocket science to physics or chemistry or biology in his mother tongue. but a student born in West Bengal or Tamilnadu – have no chance to learn higher education in his own language. that’s why learning English from primary level is absolute necessity. my dream is a give that opportunity to all the students especially students from downtrodden areas at a minimum cost.”
