The Ranbir Kapoor starrer Shamshera which also features Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor hit screens a week ago. Since then the Karan Malhotra directorial, which was expected to create waves at the box office, has been floundering. After opening on a less than appreciative note, the film that received negative feedback has been facing a tough time at the box office, in both the domestic and international markets.

In fact, in the overseas market of U.A.E/G.C.C Shamshera has managed to draw in AED 2.067 million [Rs. 4.46 cr.] over its opening week in theatres. As compared to previous releases it is evident that Shamshera has found it rather tough to entice the audience to venture into theatres. Besides this, the lackluster response from the general audience has further compounded the film’s woes at the box office register.

Going forward, Shamshera is not really expected to see further growth in business. In fact, with the new release, Ek Villain Returns hitting screens the business of the Ranbir Kapoor starrer is not really expected to see much growth.
